Recently, our “Little Engineers” at WASS have shown their creativity during the School Round of the First Lego League VI. With the theme “GAME CHANGERS”, WASSers created a project to redesign the way of movement anytime, anywhere.
For the High School Board: Challenge (Senior) with the Theme “REPLAY”, WASSers have to take part in the challenge by programming and coding an automatic robot (Robot Game) and developing a solution to the problems that the team has identified (Project). All rounds are guided by the FIRST LEGO League Core Value.
At the Primary Board: Explore (Junior) with the theme “PLAYMAKERS”, WASSers will get acquainted with May and Marco who always like to exercise and do not like to sit still, because being active makes people healthier! Child WASSers will invent new ways to help May and Marco create interesting ways for people to move.
FLL is an opportunity for students to freely immerse themselves in the world of technology. In addition, together with friends in the team they build ideas and strategies. Students also learn to build team spirit, to work together and to solve complex problems through creativity. FLL is an exciting “battleground”, where students need to solve difficult “missions” with the help of robots. WASSers spent time researching topics, programming, and testing automated robots to complete missions.
In addition to building robots, each team will have to choose a project related to the annual topic. Each team will explore and analyze problems, question, and turn into true “scientists” and “experts” to develop innovative solutions and share their discoveries and knowledge with other teams.
On the competition day, each team will present their project to the jury. Presentations are delivered by WASSers in a variety of ways that are both creative and fun.
By participating in the competition, WASSers have the opportunity to experience all the steps involved in the real product development process such as solving problems under the pressure of time; dealing with inadequate resources, and undisclosed competitors. FLL is a miniature model for business life and reflects many aspects of life in the real world.
