On Saturday and Sunday, WASS participated in the competition “Innovative Educators Based on ICT 2017” – at RMIT University. The project “STEAM IN HAND” submitted by the Western Australian International School System won the prestigious award of “The most impressive product” in this competition.
Innovative Educators Based on ICT 2017 is held by the Vietnam Ministry of Education & Training and Microsoft in Vietnam. The competition aims to encourage teachers to apply innovation and technology to optimize teaching methods and students’ performance.
This year, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Manager of Science and Technology Department at the Western Australian International School System, and three students Dang Hoang Phuoc An – 10A, Nguyen Tuong Linh – 10A, and Nguyen Pham Anh Minh – 10B participated in the competition with a project they named “STEAM IN HAND”.
Applying open and modern STEAM teaching methods, the project was implemented in six stages. It was designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills by integrating four subjects: Science, Technology, Art, and Mathematics. Through this competition, the students not only learnt useful theories and principles, but also practiced how to apply them and to create real products in the daily life.
