Tet in the Western Australian International School System is the perfect place to combine traditional and modern culture, amid an international environment, but still imbued with the Vietnamese spirit through decorations and activities to welcome the biggest festival of the year.
Traditionally, New Year is the occasion for families to gather together, descendants to express their respect for grandparents, parents and ancestors, and also a time for the whole family to reunite, gather and sit around enjoy a cosy family meal. In modern society, sometimes due to our busy lives we forget those moments. In wishing to contribute to preserving the tradition of Tet, WASS has organised a series of activities to welcome Sring with unique folk topics. In the atmosphere of the Tet holiday, WASS has also been extremely excited to make Tet decorations, creating a lively atmosphere of Spring with many vibrant colours and images of students dressed in traditional clothing or together playing folk games. One would be mistaken in thinking that these traditions would be lost in an international environment, but on the contrary, creating a great atmosphere can be found here at WASS.
The Tet spirit is felt nearby on every street and every corner. Our WASSers are ready for an exciting new year. WASS would like to wish our students and their beloved families to have a peaceful and happy new year together.
