On February 25th 2016, The Western Australian School System had the honor of welcoming the delegation from the Western Australia School Curriculum and Standards Authority who come to do the annual inspection and evaluation of the quality of education at the school. This annual visit is to ensure a balance of teaching quality between schools in Western Australia and overseas schools teaching the Australian curriculum.
Ms. Gail Taylor, Principal Consultant, International Education School Curriculum and Standards Authority, had a successful meeting with WASS School Board. The delegation carefully inspected the educational quality in the past year, as well as teachers’ proficiency, teaching plans and facilities. On the same day, Ms. Gail met all foreign and Vietnamese teachers, and asked them about their activities and teaching methods. With a commitment to keep the balance of education quality between local schools in Australia and the overseas schools teaching an Australian curriculum, all WASS’ teachers are assessed and trained annually, in order to meet the standards set by the Authority.
In addition the monitoring of curriculum and teaching methods, the delegation also evaluated the quality of school meals and hygiene. This aim is to build an international education environment at WASS, one of two Australian overseas schools in Vietnam. Towards the end, Ms. Gail walked around to different classes to meet the students. Ms. Gail not only asked about their studies, but also their hobbies and dreams. For high school students, Ms. Gail shared interesting things about education and development after graduation.
Being highly regarded by Western Australia School Curriculum and Standards Authority for strictly complying to the regulations of the education program, WASS hopes that we will continue to be a member of the international education community, and have more important contribution to the knowledge and development of young generations of Vietnamese.
