In order to bring practical experiences to WASSers in the modern factories, on the 25th and 27th September, WASS showed students grade 8-12 around the production line of Ajinomoto Long Thanh, Dong Nai province.
Ajinomoto Vietnam was established in 1991 with 100% foreign investment. The company has been accepted by customers with varieties of products such as Aji-no-moto, Aji-ngon; Aji Mayo mayonnaise, Phu Sy soy sauce … With over 100 years of establishment, Ajinomoto has 120 factories in 130 countries and more than 28,000 employees worldwide. In Vietnam, Ajinomoto Long Thanh factory where WASSers visited during this field trip was put into production from September 2008 with modern equipment, high productivity and operation 24/24 to create more products to meet the needs of consumers.
At the factory, WASSers were shown a short film of the creator of Umami – Mr Kikunae Ikeda and the formation and development of Ajinomoto’s brand. After that, students moved inside the workshop and directly observed the production process of Aji-ngon on the automatic production line to meet ISO 9001 and HACCP.
In particular, they made by themselves and enjoyed delicious donuts processed from the materials produced at the factory. WASSers observed and asked a lot of questions to discuss with their guides to learn more from ingredients to safe monosodium glutamate production process.
The interesting field trip was not only a trip to learn, but also a practical career orientation, helping WASSers to explore the environment and style of Japanese culture’s working. Since then, students equipped themselves with a lot of practical knowledge and promoted their learning ability and initiative when they are students in school.
