On November 29, the Western Australian International School System (WASS) was honored to welcome the delegation from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) of Western Australia for an annual visit and inspection.
After a 2-year hiatus, the SCSA had the opportunity to return and assess the quality of teaching at WASS to ensure a high-quality learning environment that meets international standards.
The visit and inspection by the SCSA at WASS included the presence of Mrs. Juanita Healy – Executive Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Strategic Policy; and Mrs. Gail Taylor – Principal Advisor for Western Australian Overseas Schools in the Asia region.
During this inspection, SCSA members held meetings to review the teaching curriculum, ensuring strict standards for the academic program, the professional quality of teachers, as well as the facilities, and learning materials.
SCSA visited all five WASS campuses to inspect the learning environment by talking to and listening to the students’ experiences and feedback. Mrs. Juanita Healy, Mrs. Gail Taylor, and other SCSA members also focused on the teaching curriculum and conducted professional interviews with each teacher. Additionally, all tests and exams from the first semester were randomly evaluated and graded to ensure the authenticity of the reported results.
Through the inspection, the SCSA members expressed their satisfaction and enthusiasm for the cultural and academic activities at WASS over the past period. They also highly appreciated the School’s efforts in innovating teaching methods and curriculum according to the State’s roadmap. With the professional evaluation and accreditation from SCSA, WASS is proud to offer an internationally standard, dynamic education pathway that provides students with high-quality learning experiences meeting international standards.
WASS hopes that with the enthusiastic support of all Parents, the diligent spirit of the students, and a love for education, WASS will continue to grow stronger so that future generations of students at WASS will always be pioneers in the future.
