In order to raise awareness of the harmful effects of pollution to our planet, WASS has built and integrated a series of environmental protection activities into the lessons, as well as many practical field trips for the students. Let’s see what our WASSers have to say about their involvement in making this planet greener.
In addition to classroom lessons taking place throughout the school year on preserving the environment, we also participated in practical activities in the lead up to Earth Day.
The damage to our planet caused by humans is increasing, and Earth Day was born so we could join hands to restore its natural beauty. During the past school year, we have participated in many activities responding to WASS’s campaign: “Join hands for a green planet”.
During classes, I learned many interesting things about Earth Day. The increasing pollution will have bad consequences that will affect both humans and animals. That’s why Earth Day was formed. Now, many countries have joined hands to respond to this meaningful day to protect our green planet.
During the last field trip, we participated in picking up garbage at places that we visited. Cans, plastic bottles, and plastic bags that were all left behind by irresponsible people were quickly collected. After that, all of the waste was sorted and disposed into designated places. The weather was quite hot, my friends and I were very tired, but everyone’s face was bright and happy. When we had finished we looked at the clean beach and everyone felt very proud of the effort they had put in. The work was small but we were happy to have contributed to the action and environmental protection taking place.
We were determined not to leave garbage lying around. When eating candy or drinking milk, I always consciously put garbage in the bin. In places where there were no trash cans, I kept them in my bag or held them in my hand until I could find a trash can. Although it was a bit inconvenient, I knew it was the right thing to do.
We also sang and made videos encouraging people to save energy and protect the environment. Every time the song started, it made me feel so emotional.
“Please keep this world like
Together we build nature
Protect a green planet ”
I promised to myself that I will try harder to implement good habits like not littering in public places, saving electricity and water when not really necessary, and putting garbage in the right place.”
Let the Earth stay green – let’s join WASSers to protect the environment, so that all year is Earth Day!

Our Earth is now suffering from the consequences of man-made environmental pollution. During extra-curricular trips, we were able to participate in many meaningful activities, carrying the message of environmental protection in order to preserve our green planet.
We learned to recycle garbage, save electricity when not really necessary, and to stop littering. In addition, during the beach trip in Nha Trang, we also participated in collecting trash on the sand, as well as sorting and putting garbage into the designated place. Seeing that the beach was no longer dirty, or the places we worked on were clean, I felt very happy knowing I had contributed something to the protection of the environment.
I made a promise to myself to always keep the environment in mind, no matter whether I am at school or not, so that life around me will always be beautiful and sustainable.
For this year’s Earth Day, let’s join hands to protect the environment!
