The WASS community jointly dedicated meaningful “gifts” on Vietnamese Women’s Day (20/10) with the theme “Redefining Femininity.”
The Grandmother’s love, Mother’s concerns, Teacher’s care, or gentle gestures of our Sisters seem to have become very ordinary things. As a consequence, we have occasionally “normalized” their presence in every moment of our lives. On Vietnamese Women’s Day, which was celebrated on October 20, the West Australian community organized meaningful activities to honor the role of women as a way to “remind” everyone not to forget the contributions, sacrifices, and immense love of the beautiful flowers around us.
With the theme “Redefining Femininity,” October 20 was also an opportunity for WASSers to express gratitude and love through small gifts, practical actions, and sending best wishes to their Grandmothers, Mothers, Sisters, and Teachers.
The sincere wishes, cute little gifts, and adorable paper flowers were all carefully prepared by the young students, pouring their heartfelt emotions into creating something special for these extraordinary women. Even the youngest members of the West Australian community took great care to stick each flower, painstakingly draw every stroke, and meticulously paint every color on the greeting cards in order to create a surprise for the women who care for them every day.
In addition, the WASSers didn’t forget to express their gratitude to the caretaker teachers who prepared delicious meals, the janitors who kept the classrooms and learning environment clean and tidy, or the healthcare staff who ensured their physical and mental well-being, enabling them to study and thrive in the best possible way.
Through these meaningful and practical actions, WASS hopes that the students understand that small gestures can make the special women in our lives feel appreciated, loved, and happier. Not only on special occasions, but WASSers should also express their gratitude and emotions to their loved ones in every moment.
