In the last month of 2023, WASSers have been actively participating in academic activities, engaging in exciting adventures, and immersing themselves in a series of enthusiastic Christmas events.
In December 2023, the WASS community experienced numerous exciting learning activities and participated in diverse Christmas events, creating a joyful and vibrant learning environment.
1. Exciting Field Trips for Kindergarten
During the past two days, November 28 and 29, 2023, the little WASSers embarked on exciting Field Trips at famous museums in Ho Chi Minh City.
Accordingly, on November 28, students of Kangaroo at 35 Nguyen Huu Canh Campus had a visit to the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum – where they explored the wonders of art and admired a treasure trove of timeless artworks.
On November 29, students of Kangaroo at 260 Dien Bien Phu Campus had a visit to the Southern Women’s Museum – a destination known not only for its unique architecture but also as a place that preserves and honors the traditional values of women in the Southern region.
Also on November 29, Preschool students at 35 Nguyen Huu Canh Campus had a visit to the Pennsylvania American International School – Elementary School Campus. During this special visit, the little WASSers had the opportunity to explore classrooms and functional rooms, directly experience being a scientist by conducting experiments in the Lab, and indulge in singing like a true artist in the Music room. The teachers and older students at PennSchool warmly welcomed the little WASSers. The students had a lively and joyful exchange with each other in a spirited atmosphere.
These Field Trips have provided unique educational experiences, helping the little WASSers broaden their knowledge and enhance their understanding of the nation’s cultural identity. Simultaneously, these experiences serve as an important stepping stone for the students to move up to the Elementary School level – a new journey they will embark on after the conclusion of this academic year.
2. Colorful Baking and Bartending Workshops
As a continuation of the vibrant “Jingle Twinkle Fiesta” Christmas events in December 2023, WASS collaborated with the American College of Viet Nam (AmCollege) to organize outstanding Baking and Bartending Workshops, specifically:
On December 9, 2023, WASS and AmCollege joyfully welcomed nearly 100 families of Primary School students to participate in an exciting Christmas Baking Workshop. During the workshop, parents and students were guided by Ms. Chung Ngoc Thao to decorate Yule log cakes and cookies in various shapes and colors, all themed around Christmas. With unlimited creativity and smooth coordination among family members, the adorable and artistic cakes emerged, leaving everyone in awe and delight.
In addition, from December 20 to December 22, 2023, High School WASSers had the chance to showcase their bartending skills by engaging in Bartending Workshops. Under the attentive guidance of Mr. Chau Nhat Quang and Mr. Duong Thien Phu, students quickly grasped the steps and coordinated to create delicious and enticing Mojito Berry Christmas cocktails.
Through these workshops, WASS believes that the students have gained additional exciting experiences in the academic year 2023 – 2024. These memorable moments strengthen the bonds among WASSers, their families, teachers, and friends.
3. “Candy Cane Day” Festival, Full of Surprises and Joy
On December 22, 2023, WASSers had a day filled with joy as they immersed themselves in the festive atmosphere of “Candy Cane Day” before heading into the Winter break.
Immersing themselves in the lively atmosphere of the festival, the members of WASS transformed themselves into “Candy Canes,” donning red-and-white outfits or unleashing their creativity by turning into Santa Claus with cute red hats, Mrs. Claus with adorable red glasses, and even reindeer with prominent red antlers. All of these things contributed to a vibrant and warm Christmas scene at the WASS’s Campuses.
Besides, the Christmas magic this year turned WASSers’ wishes into reality as the children received special gifts from Santa Claus and the School. The Christmas gifts serve as a special reward from Santa Claus and the teachers, acknowledging WASSers’ dedication to their studies and wholehearted enjoyment throughout the past year.
WASS is delighted and proud of another year of being with and witnessing the growth of our students. Every passing moment is a precious memory that teachers will cherish on their most memorable souvenir film.
As December 2023 closes, it marks another brilliant road that the WASS community has walked through together. WASS extends its sincerest gratitude to parents and students for accompanying the School in diverse learning activities and experiences throughout the past year. Wishing all parents, teachers, and students a New Year filled with joy, good health, prosperity, and success.
