Recently, the teachers at the Western Australian International School System made a cover of the handwashing song “Ghen Cô Vy” and received praise from the WASS community on social media. Through the performance, WASS wishes to convey a positive message and encourage the WASS community to conduct COVID-19 Precautionary Measures. Together, we will prevail against the Covid-19 disease.
“Ghen Cô Vy” is a song written by Khac Hung and sung by Min and Erik, a dance cover by choreographer Quang Dang for a health project of the National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health. With an exciting, friendly melody and easy-to-understand dance, “Ghen Cô Vy” quickly makes a great effect helping to connect the community. The song and its prevention message also went viral and received a lot of praise from international media. It was mentioned on an American television show called ‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’
(John Oliver got excited about the song and its meaningful content)
Teachers at WASS covered this interesting dance, with the message “WASS prevents Covid – 19 virus with all of our hearts”. Its purpose is to express the spirit of solidarity and warmth with the community in the period of Covid-19 disease. Thereby, calling upon WASSers for participation of the project #glencovechallenge of the Ministry of Health and cover the “Handwashing Dance”. This joins hands spreading meaningful messages, making a habit of proper hand hygiene to prevent the disease and together stopping the Covid – 19 pandemic.
During the time that students are not at school, WASS has been taking measures to strengthen the disease prevention process, and applied new preventative measures recommended by the Ministry of Health. All classrooms, tables and chairs are regularly disinfected. Weekly meetings take place to update the latest information about Covid-19 precautionary measures for teachers. The school has also created plans to revise and consolidate knowledge for students. Disease prevention at WASS is taken seriously and received well. It has been evaluated by the medical teams of the District 3 People’s Committee.
Hopefully in the coming time, WASS will receive many responses from the WASS community about the project of “Ghen Cô Vy” song and will proactively spread a positive message to the community to help prevent the pandemic of Covid -19.
