The WASS community had a brilliant and exciting March, with a series of learning activities, experiences, and outstanding events.

Every day at WASS is a memorable day with countless learning moments and vibrant experiences for WASSers. From late February to March 2024, WASSers have been actively involved in various learning activities and diverse events, providing opportunities to learn, grow, and acquire practical knowledge.

1. Psychology Workshops on “Safety Rules – Privacy Protection”

In addition to providing foundational knowledge, WASS always emphasizes and prioritizes helping WASSers acquire important soft skills from an early age. Among them, self-defense skills are essential, helping students avoid the risks of bullying, coercion, or exploitation.

Accordingly, from February 26 to 29, 2024, WASS organized psychological workshops on the topic “Safety Rules – Privacy Protection” for WASSers at the Primary School. During the workshops, apart from imparting theoretical and practical knowledge on self-defense skills in dangerous situations, the psychology teachers also introduced engaging interactive games to help WASSers better visualize potential scenarios and appropriate responses.

The knowledge and skills shared during the workshops will undoubtedly be one of the essential tools to help WASSers confidently become fully developed citizens with good mental health and happiness.

2. Workshops on Exploring “Hot” Careers in the United States and New Zealand

Studying abroad is one of the choices of many WASSers both at present and in the future. To provide WASSers with the most accurate information about studying abroad in the United States and New Zealand, the School organized workshops to explore the “hot” careers in these two countries.

Accordingly, on March 1, 2024, at the 84 Ba Huyen Thanh Quan Campus, the workshop “Introduction to U.S. Study and Hot Careers in 2024”  took place with the participation of WASSers from Years 10 and 12. At the workshop, Mr. David Lecon, Managing Director of the FIU Global First Year Program, enlightened students about the prospects for personal growth, global exploration, and access to the world’s leading advanced education when studying in the United States. In addition, FIU alumni provided students with practical insights about life in the U.S. and helpful advice for their study abroad journey.

On March 19, 2024, High School WASSers participated in an engaging career orientation workshop to learn about one of the hottest professions today – pilots – along with representatives from the International Aviation Academy of New Zealand (IAANZ) and the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise in Viet Nam. Through the workshop, students at WASS learned a lot of useful information about the training program at this school, the privileges, and the development potential of the pilot profession.

The workshop is part of the Career Orientation Program series at WASS, providing students with useful and practical knowledge and motivating them to pursue their dream of studying abroad and achieving success in their future studies.

3. The Practical Learning Field Trips Took WASSers to Famous Historical Landmarks

“Journeys against the tide of history” always bring different colors to the learning process for WASSers. In March 2024, the School organized Practical Learning Field Trips for WASSers in Years 6, 7, and 9, specifically:

  • March 5, 2024: Year 7 students visited the Ho Chi Minh Museum.
  • March 6, 2024: Year 9 students visited the Independence Palace.
  • March 7, 2024: Year 6 students had a trip to the Hung Kings’ memorial temple at the National Historical Cultural Park

Each Field Trip was a wonderful journey, opening glorious historical pages and providing WASSers with exciting experiences and opportunities to accumulate valuable information. These were valuable sources of knowledge that have contributed to enhancing WASSers’ awareness of traditional heritage and historical narratives; at the same time, it helped them gain more motivation to nurture national pride and consciousness of preserving cultural heritage.

WASS always provides maximum opportunities for students to access, explore, and honor the traditional cultural values of the nation, alongside building international-mindedness to become future global citizens.

4. Open Day “Pioneering Excellence in the Digital Age”

In response to the significant interest of numerous parents regarding the teaching program and learning environment at WASS, the School continued to organize the 2nd Open Day with the theme “Pioneering Excellence in the Digital Age” on March 9, 2024.

The event provided information about the modern technology-integrated learning environment at WASS, along with the outstanding Western Australian curriculum. Parents attending the event also had the opportunity to gain detailed insights into the curriculum and important information through discussions with the Board of Principals.

Students attending the Open Day also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Western Australian program through Demo Classes and receive many attractive gifts after participating in exciting experiential games related to Technology, Arts, Science, Music, Food Technology, and many other activities.

5. Talkshow about “Common Illnesses When Children Go to Kindergarten” on March 23, 2024, at WASS Kindergarten!

On March 23, 2024, WASS Kindergarten warmly welcomed a large number of parents and their little ones to attend the Talkshow “Common Illnesses When Children Go to Kindergarten” and learned about the educational program for children aged 2 to 6 at WASS Kindergarten.

The special guest – Dr. Nguyen Tri Doan (Head of Pediatrics at Victoria Healthcare) – brought a wealth of practical and useful information about common illnesses that children often encounter, such as influenza, common cold, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, gastrointestinal infections, dengue fever, respiratory diseases, and many others.

In addition, Parents accompanied their children to visit the facilities, learn about the Western Australian curriculum, and participate in exciting experiential activities at the school.

WASS Kindergarten in particular and the Western Australian School System in general, are delighted to have organized such a practical and useful event, providing Parents with effective “tips” from experts and offering insights into a modern learning environment at WASS for comprehensive child development.
