After the busy summer days with lots of laughter, the WASS community is now ready to enter the new school year 2019 – 2020 full of aspirations. Let’s join The Western Australian School System in listening to the thoughts and feelings of teachers and students in the past school year, as well as the thoughts and wishes of them for this new academic year!
The 2019-2020 school year has officially started after the exciting and rewarding summer days. The teachers at WASS were extremely excited, preparing a lot of activities to welcome more than two thousands of WASSers back to school. In addition to preparing supplies and learning materials to support teaching to bring interesting lessons for students, the teachers also revise plans for the year to create more mainstream learning activities and educational methods to help students acquire knowledge more effectively. Not only are our teachers interested in their professional knowledge and learning development during the school year, but they also bring new wind from the learning environment, creating inspiration for students. With all this in mind, we have put our heart in each preparation for the new school year, carefully prepare on each picture to hang on walls, place tables and chairs neatly… for our beloved students to have a wonderful experience on their first day at school.
May the great WASS ship this new year steadily lead the WASSers to the shore to conquer the pinnacle of wisdom. Wishing the great WASS family a successful career in nurturing the elite and reaping many new achievements for education.
Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram – Homeroom teacher of class 1A
Welcome all of our little WASSers back to school after a happy summer break in the bustling atmosphere of the new school year. Perhaps not only the children but also the teachers at WASS Kindergarten campus feel thrilled and looking forward to today, when we are together with the little angels to start a new journey to discover new useful things in this school year of 2019 – 2020.
The first day of school saw lots of emotions; rejoiced and touched when meeting teachers and friends; surprised at the first time going to school… There were lots of smiles and there were also some tears. The teachers at WASS always hope that the memories of the first day of school will always be beautiful and bright as we go through the weeks of fun and learning together, learn more and more wonderful things and prepare knowledge to be more firmly on the path of intellectual discovery.
May the WASS community have a successful new school year and achieve more glory!
Nguyen Thi Luyen – Kindergarten teacher
“Summer went by so quickly, the Opening for the new school year has arrived, the day that I’m very excited to see teachers and friends again. This morning I did not overslept like usual but had to get up early to prepare for the opening ceremony at the Hoa Binh theater. This year’s opening season is different, I am no longer a new student, but a fifth-grade student, the last grade of elementary school. Therefore, I always promise myself to always be obedient, study well, achieve good achievements so that my parents and teachers are happy.”
Le An – Student of class 5C
“Suddenly recognizing the guava flavor
The wind is in the wind
Suddenly fog came through the alley
Looks like autumn has arrived.”
The poem about autumn suddenly rang in my mind. Autumn has arrived? Every autumn comes a new school year. It opens up new pages for me, new hopes, it gives me such strong emotions! But this year, for me, autumn is special! Because this is my first year at the Western Australian International School System.
I remember the day, I was a little boy run after my mother. A timid child, always held my mother’s hand, refuses to leave on the first day of school. And yet, today, I was able to walk into school on my own with confidence. I could proudly wear a red uniform, could enter school as a real student – a WASSer. In my heart, there were so many indescribable emotions!
Many new students just like me – with the timid emotions look like young birds have just left the nest. If before, we could only saw the school from afar, we now have the opportunity to take a closer look, closer to the beauty of the school, to live and study under the roof of WASS. The school is spacious and clean, spacious corridors, modern functional classrooms, etc. In this school year, I am learning in class 4A – which is not only fun, pride but also is a big challenge. Because I was worried because I was afraid I could not follow my knowledge or keep up with my friends. But I’m very happy because my homeroom teacher is always caring and encourages us with helpful advice. She helped me to be more confident in my ability. Through the first lessons, I understand more about my dear school, more about my teachers and friends.
The new school year has just begun. I secretly promised to myself that I would study hard to keep my teachers and parents happy. Everyone, please believe in us. My heart is full of hopes and dreams for a good school year!
Nguyen Minh Sang – Student of class 4A
Time has quietly passed quickly in the atmosphere of a vibrant summer, and now I have attended the opening ceremony under the roof of WASS for the fourth time. I am very excited to attend the opening ceremony of the new school year 2019 – 2020. When I arrived, I found everyone was very happy, wearing their formal clothes to prepare for this special day.First is saluting the flag, all eyes are on the beloved national flag. Followed by speeches welcoming the new school year of those who have driven the boat of wisdom across the river. Along with it was the musical repertoire that has been prepared very nicely and elaborately. Just like every year in this special atmosphere, I promise I will try my best to listen to my teachers and my parents in order to achieve the many achievements and awards that I has set.
Tran Nguyen Cat Linh – Student of 4C class
