On the 9th and 10th February 2017, WASSers joined in a contest designed to select the best team members for the International Kangaroo Maths Competition 2017. This competition is an opportunity for students who have a passion and talent for Maths to experience an international tournament.
The International Kangaroo Maths Competition (IKMC) is a prestigious global competition which had over 6 million participants in 2016 from 70 countries including Vietnam. The competition is designed to spread the passion for and the joy of Maths. It helps to develop peoples’ minds and relates to real life. The competition is based solely on multiple choice questions.
For the participants, this competition is an opportunity for them to reach international Maths standards. The competition’s assessment system measures students’ learning outcomes from three angles: understanding, application, and argument ability. The competition is an exciting educational platform that lifts Maths to a new dimension. For the school and our families, the competition’s Maths capacity assessment system provides a better view on the students’ ability at all levels.
