Dear Parents and Students of the Western Australian International School System,
Welcome to WASS August E-newsletter and thank you for another wonderful and productive summer at WASS. Although the summer camp just lasted for five weeks, we have made unforgettable memories together.
This summer, our students experienced a great time full of adventure and new friendships. They explored, created their own products and tried new things with lots of fun. The students also had the opportunity to play and learn in full-fledged linguistic programs and an environment of American culture through its traditions, history and arts.
Especially this year students got to know core subjects like Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies according to (the U.S.) Common Core Standards. The learning content and exciting activities are designed specifically for students’ age and grade level to enhance their knowledge base, creativity and promote excitement for the new school year.
Also, at the beginning of August, we welcome Year 12 students to the first day of their new school year. You will see, Year 12 is a marathon, not a sprint. Nobody can run flat out the entire race. There will be some challenges and make you grow. Meaning to challenges, we are sorry that this COVID-19 crisis has struck at a very significant time for you. However, we need to remember all the wonderful things that happened before February — a year filled with new learning experiences, fun and many accomplishments we should all be proud of.
Students – always remember to study hard, read every day and dedicate yourself to making your next year even better. You are investing yourself with every assessment you take and with every book that you read. Together, we build a collaborative and intellectual community sharing the expectations of a shared framework and cooperative environment.
Finally, we sincerely wish you the very best for the coming school year. Remember to choose your responsibility and response towards upcoming challenges, build your inner strengths and put yourself in the front seat. You’ll look back at the end of the school year with pride.
We look forward to seeing you very soon!
