The International Peace Day at WASS is the annual occasion in which our students are educated to share love and sympathy amongst the community. Most importantly, 10,000 VND was donated to WASS’s charitable foundation for each blue T-shirt worn by WASS’s students to school. The funds raised will be used for community and social activities. Let’s read the thoughts of students and teachers at WASS on this humanitarian festival.
We live in a peaceful and happy environment, however, have you ever asked what peace is? Why do we appreciate peace? In history, the concept of war and peace usually come together. Nevertheless, as humans, everyone avoids starting wars, and wish for a happy and peaceful life.
Peace is a life without bloodshed, war, terrorism, theft, and exploitation, where people live happily and freely. In contrast, war is fighting, chaos, and death. In summing up, all of us understand that being peaceful is the status we desire and is the happiest thing.
Peace is the symbol of life that people wish for. We live in a peaceful environment. At WASS, the International Peace Day is held on the 21st of September annually. On this occasion, the blue can be seen in the teachers and students’ uniforms and the decorations and surrounding lights in our school’s peaceful environment. There were no fights or anger, only cheer and students having fun together.
I hope that there will be no wars and violence. I wish that peace will spread to everywhere from my house, throughout the alleys, and through every corner, especially, everywhere in the world.

The 21st of September is International Peace Day. This day is for honoring world peace and recalling an end to the war and violence. Annually, on this occasion, my school informs us to wear blue clothing. By wearing blue clothes, our school donates 10,000 VND to our school’s charitable foundation which is for philanthropy at the end of the year. In addition, the school also sends the message about peace made by students through the small, but totally meaningful activities. To me, these activities at school let me understand the importance of this day. Let’s honor the International Peace Day meaningfully and send this message of peace to everyone!

I feel happy and lucky because being born in a period of independence, reunification, and living in a peaceful and prosperous Vietnam. It’s fantastic that every morning, attending school, I can see the smile on everyone’s faces, and that’s my personal peace.
In order to honor the International Peace Day, all WASSers together wore blue clothing – the colon of peace during this school event. Each student donated 10,000 VND to our school’s charity fund. I believe this day is meaningful because it’s the chance for us to raise our voices to end the battles and violence and to build up world peace. I hope that all people appreciate the peace that we enjoy.

Stepping inside the gates of WASS, I have learned a lot about good things and things I have never been interested in before like the International Peace Day or the World Peace Day on the 21st of September.
This day is for celebrating world peace as well as recalling an end to wars and violence. This is also the chance for organizations to propose for a ceasefire in battlefields and to conduct relief operations. I still remembered that teachers taught us about the wars in the world, the history of the founding and protecting the country during the heroic time of the nation through thousands of years. The hardship brought by the wars is undeniable: millions of deaths in the battlefields, millions of innocent kids losing parents, being ignored and without education, wives taking care of little children, mothers-in-law without the help of their husbands and thousands of mums, day to day who wants their sons to return home. I don’t know how many tears have been shed, wordless sadness, just hidden inside. How much money was spent on this nonsense, whilst people lived in poverty? Events such as nations invading other countries for the sake of their own countries will lead to war. So, peace is the wish of all humanity.
We together honor world peace for humankind. In order to do that, we need to share our love and eliminate the suspicion and the individualism to make the world better together. We can’t have peaceful lives without peace. Without peace days, could we exist? I wish that all people could together spread the importance of this special day.

In response to World Peace Day, together with the teachers and young WASSers of Western Australian International School System, Kindergarten has been involved in meaningful activities throughout the school. The most special activity is the “WASS blue shirt to school” which results in a contribution of VND 10,000 to our school’s charity fund. In my opinion, this is a very significant activity in the chain of response activities. At the preschool age, WASS involves the children in community activities such as markets and charity events. World Peace Day is no exception.
The WASSers strode to school wearing blue shirts of hope, they learned about love and sharing and contributed to drawing pictures of Peace and hope.
Through a series of meaningful activities in response to the Western Australian International School System’s World Peace Day, we hope you understand the meaning of love, how to live in a friendly and out-going way and spread your desire for peace with others around you. We are also the ones who cultivate our future’s seeds and we will also continue the mission of educating our students to love mankind, to love peace and to love our country during their first years of their education at Western Australian International School System.
