“Hello 1st grade” is a special summer program which is designed for students from age 5-6. The program is a combination of the MOET Vietnamese program and the Australian program which is licensed by the Western Australian School Curriculum and Standards Authority.

Curriculum and ideal education method – STEAM
The summer program “Hello 1st Grade” at WASS is implemented based on a the combination of the Australian curriculum and STEAM, the ideal education method (Science – Technology – English – ART – Maths). With the motto “Focus on students”, the program helps students get acquainted with Maths, Science, Technology, English easily by using modern learning tools, to completely develop their talents, skills and aesthetic values through art subjects like acting, drawing, dancing, singing, listening to poems and other extracurricular activities.

Based on input from our psychological experts, our lessons are designed to balance learning and playing which are taught by very experienced and conscientious Foreign and Vietnamese teachers with a large range of learning topics combined with many field trips in order to keep the children interested during the course.

With the theme “DISCOVERY SUMMER”, the Summer Program 2017 of the Western Australian International School System would like to offer our students a rewarding summer with fun lessons to help stimulate their creativity. With Sciences, Language and Logic from the Australian education program in collaboration with modern STEAM teaching methods, students will be given projects such as “Robots in life” that will be both fun and intellectually stimulating. The Summer Program 2017 at WASS promises to become a creative playground for all students from 6-17 years old.
The Western Australian School System provides summer programs including excellent curriculum, comprehensive care and support services for semi-boarding school and boarding school students. An ideal international environment and a convenient life at school will help the students enjoy learning and developing their capacity. For both semi-boarding school and boarding school form, the students will find easy to adapt and join all fun, helpful and creative activities here. That’s also a great beginning for their cool summer.
PROGRAM
The Summer Program includes Australian Curriculum subjects such as Maths, Fun Science, Robotics, Computing, Arts (Visual Art, Music, and Dance), Physical Education and Life Skills plus English with ESL classes as well as PSAT and SAT classes.
FUN SCIENCE – ROBOTICS – COMPUTING
These three subjects in the fields of science require mathematical thinking: logic and science skills. Through the indoor and extracurricular activities, students will be able to explore the relationship between lessons and practice, and will learn to independently complete tasks.
STEAM TEACHING METHODS
Applying the modern teaching methods, STEAM (Science – Technology – Engineering – Art – Maths)
With this program students will not only develop their language skills, but will also focus on thinking relating to 5 fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Through creative teaching activities and multiple integrated tasks, STEAM stimulates thinking and problem solving skills in many areas in order to help students develop holistically.
ESL – PSAT* – SAT I*
ESL*, PSAT*, SAT I* programs will be also taught during the Summer Program, in line with the learning capacity of each student. The ESL English curriculum which is offered to students from grade 1 – 6 is officially licensed by the College Board of the United States (School code 698001). The Western Australian School System has also introduced the PSAT 8/9 program for qualified students in secondary, with an advanced SAT curriculum* for students in grade 10, 11, 12.
The English Program is one of the highlights of the 2017 Summer Program at WASS. A team of foreign teachers promises to deliver a great language training program for all the camp students this summer.

Chương trình ESL hè năm 2017 được phát triển dựa trên chương trình EAL/D (English as additional language/dialect). Chương trình EAL/D được thiết kế dành cho học sinh sử dụng tiếng Anh không theo tiêu chuẩn SAE, Úc (Standart Australian English – Tiếng Anh không phải là ngôn ngữ chính) không những chỉ tập trung vào các kỹ năng về nghe, nói, đọc, viết mà còn giúp học sinh hiểu được các giá trị và văn hoá tại Úc.
*PSAT
The PSAT (The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test – PSAT/NMSQT) program is supported by two organizations: the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). This is a standardized exam, in order to provide a top means for students to prepare for the SAT exam. The PSAT also facilitates students seeking access to the NMSC scholarship programs as well as opening the doors to colleges, universities and future careers. PSAT / NMSQT exams assesses following skills:
Critical reading skills (reading comprehension);
Maths problem-solving skills (solve the problem with mathematics);
Writing skills.
*SAT I
The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized test from the United States. SAT is managed by the College Board – a non-profit organization. The SAT score is one of the most important entrance factors for most colleges and universities in the United States. It is also can be an important basis for granting scholarships.
ARTS AND LIFE SKILLS
The Summer Program 2017 not only focuses on science creativity but also encourages the creativity of the students closer to the Arts and helps to develop soft skills. The potential of students is further maximized through our clubs which include activities such as music, painting, and martial arts. Great creative environments in which to further foster talents. Field trips associated with each study topic will be held on the Fridays of the 2nd, 4th and 6th week of the Summer Program.
