The Piggy Bank Fundraising Campaign in Semester 1 has provided WASSers valuable lessons on love and compassion, inspiring them to spread kindness and positivity within the community.

“Each of us carries a precious gem within, which is compassion. Though it cannot be seen with our eyes, it can be felt through our actions, words, and gestures.” – A heartfelt quote from WASSer Lu Xuan Thuy.

With the mission of fostering excellence in education, WASS believes that community engagement is essential in creating lasting educational values. On the journey to shaping “well-rounded digital citizens”, the School continuously strives to encourage and empower WASSers to develop an open-minded international perspective by actively engaging in and addressing social issues.

Continuing a series of meaningful and humanitarian activities throughout the academic year, WASSers have joined the Piggy Bank Fundraising Campaign to contribute to the Community Fund “Empower the Next Generation”, which will enable the WASS family to continue supporting the dreams of H’Mông students in Yen Bai Province through the main project, “Yen Bai, For a Brighter Tomorrow” (Phase 2).

Beyond fostering a habit of saving, this meaningful activity also provides WASSers with valuable life lessons.

“Through the Piggy Bank Fundraising Campaign, I not only learned how to save money but also gained a deeper understanding of the value of kindness and sharing. I realized that happiness comes not only from receiving but also from giving. Moreover, I have come to appreciate the small yet meaningful things in life and learned to be more mindful of my spending.

At first, I was excited but also a bit uncertain, wondering how much I could contribute. However, I reminded myself that even small amounts, when saved day by day, could add up to something meaningful.

There were times when I was tempted to buy toys or delicious snacks, but whenever I thought about the unprivileged children in remote areas enduring the cold and lacking basic necessities, I restrained myself and stayed committed to my promise. I kept reminding myself that every small amount of money I put into the piggy bank carried love and compassion for those less fortunate.

When I finally saw the amount I had saved throughout the semester, I felt immense joy and pride. It was the result of perseverance, patience, and heartfelt sincerity that I wanted to share with children in need. I believed that even the smallest contributions could bring warmth and encouragement, helping them strive for a better future.” – shared by WASSer Ton That Thanh Hai.

“I felt very happy and proud to see the amount I had saved throughout the Piggy Bank Fundraising Campaign. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of compassion and the importance of sharing with those less fortunate than me.” – WASSer Mai Nguyen An Nhien shared.

“This activity was more than just collecting money; it was a lesson in kindness, responsibility, and sharing with the community. Saving money required self-discipline, as I had to spend less on unnecessary things to contribute to the cause. Each small effort added up, teaching me the value of financial responsibility.

When the piggy banks were finally opened, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and happiness. Seeing my savings turn into real support for others was a rewarding experience. I realized that even small contributions, when combined, could make a big difference. It was not just about money; it was about making a positive impact on the lives of others. This experience will stay with me, reminding me that kindness and compassion can help create a better world for everyone.” – WASSer Nguyen Hoang Thien Kim exclaimed.

“I decided to participate in the Piggy Bank Fundraising Campaign to support underprivileged students in Yen Bai. I saved money by helping my parents with household chores such as vacuuming, sweeping the floor, studying diligently, and setting aside my lucky money from the recent Tet holiday. Through this activity, I realized the importance of saving and sharing to support those less fortunate than me.” – WASSer Le Phong shared his story.

“Since I was little, I was taught that ‘Kindness is giving without expecting anything in return’. Helping others, even through small actions, is a true expression of compassion. When I learned that the School was organizing the Piggy Bank Fundraising Campaign to support those in need, I felt incredibly excited.

Although I couldn’t personally give gifts or join charity trips, I saved a little money each day to put into my piggy bank. Day by day, those small contributions added up to a meaningful amount. It may not be much, but I realized the value of perseverance and effort.

I feel fortunate to have a loving family, the opportunity to go to school, and the resources to learn and grow. However, I also understand that not everyone has the same privileges. That’s why, through the ‘Piggy Bank Saving’ movement, I feel truly happy and proud to contribute, even in a small way, to the community.” – WASSer Lu Xuan Thuy added.
