With a variety of meaningful activities, each WASSer spreads messages of love and sharing, contributing to building a united community and promoting positive values.
In celebration of International Day of Peace, the campuses of the Western Australian International School System (WASS) were adorned with charming blue shirts.
With the theme “Rainbow of Kindness,” on September 19 and 20, the WASSers from Kindergarten immersed themselves in vibrant activities such as learning to recognize and distinguish between good and bad actions, creating a pinwheel garden, and performing acts of kindness like saying thank you, giving hugs, drawing pictures for friends, helping others pick up items, and letting friends go ahead in line. Through these activities, the students collectively spread beautiful and meaningful actions to contribute to a peaceful and happy world.
With the theme “Peaceful Actions, Loving Hearts”, the Peace Day for Primary, Middle, and High School aimed to spread significant and humane messages about peace while raising awareness to prevent and avoid school violence.
Charming and meaningful posters, stickers, and short films conveyed each WASSer’s wishes, hopes, and commitments for a better world. In addition, WASSers engaged in discussions and activities to raise awareness and develop effective methods for preventing and addressing school violence.
Continuing the beautiful tradition over the years, for each blue shirt worn by WASSers on Peace Day, the School has made meaningful contributions to the national relief fund that embody the collective kindness of our entire WASS community, supporting people in areas severely impacted by typhoons Yagi. This initiative reflects the heart of the WASS community in joining hands to help alleviate the impact of recent natural disasters.
Peace cannot be sustained without taking action to promote positivity. WASS hopes that each WASSer will continue their journey as ambassadors of peace, love, and kindness in all aspects of their lives.
