Experience not only creates knowledge, but also shapes thinking and character.” – David Kolb.

In this spirit, Practical Learning Activities at WASS open up “classrooms without walls,” where WASSers across all grade levels have opportunities to observe, ask questions, connect knowledge with real-life contexts, and enrich their personal learning experiences. Let’s take a look back at the energetic journeys of our WASSers!

1. Kindergarten students gained many valuable lessons through rich and engaging experiences.

In late November 2025, our little WASSers joined a Practical Learning Field Trip to Tinker Play. In the green outdoor space, nature became a teacher as the children explored the world through their senses. They touched soil and sand, listened to birds, observed different play areas, and enjoyed the fresh air around them.

In addition, the Practical Learning Activities at HCMC Metro Station and the HCMC Post Office offered the children lively and engaging real-life experiences. Our little students had the chance to explore familiar city landmarks, learn about different means of transportation, and observe everyday activities in daily life.

2. Expanding knowledge and shaping future pathways for Primary, Secondary, and High school WASSers

Primary WASSers enjoyed an exciting learning journey to Fahasa Bookstore, where they explored the world of knowledge in a colorful and inspiring space. The students enthusiastically participated in creative activities and smart shopping experiences. This fresh and engaging learning journey brought joy to their learning process while nurturing a love for books and encouraging positive reading habits among our WASSers.

The Practical Learning Field Trip to Suoi Tien Cultural Tourist Area provided WASSers with a wide range of hands-on experiences. Through activities connected with nature, explorations of Vietnamese cultural heritage, and participation in diverse play and discovery spaces, students had the opportunity to broaden their understanding and connect classroom knowledge with the world around them.

Continuing the series of engaging Practical Learning Activities, the trip to Chavi Garden, an educational eco-tourism destination, opened up a “special classroom” where lessons came to life. Here, WASSers from Years 6 – 9 had the opportunity to recharge their energy, develop essential soft skills, strengthen teamwork, and create many memorable moments together.

For High School WASSers, Practical Learning Activities focused on expanding knowledge and supporting future orientation. A highlight was the visit, combined with Career Orientation Activities at Western Sydney University for Year 11 students. During the visit, WASSers explored different study programs, admission requirements, and student life, gaining useful insights to help shape their future learning pathways.

Practical Learning Activities are important pieces that complete the colorful learning journey of WASSers. Through each hands-on activity, WASS aims to build a foundation of knowledge, skills, and character, helping students learn, explore, and develop confidently and comprehensively throughout every journey.
