WASS is not only a place where dreams take flight but also a second home that holds beautiful memories for generations of students. Among those cherished recollections, when asked “What do you remember most about WASS?”, alumna Nguyen Hoang Nam Phuong shared a heartfelt story about her learning journey and the passion nurtured at her beloved WASS.
Having spent 5 years at WASS, Nam Phuong is now continuing her academic journey at RMIT University Vietnam. In our conversation, she warmly recalled her unforgettable experiences at WASS.
Reflecting on her time at school, she chose 3 words that best captured WASS in her heart:
- DYNAMIC: Where students gain experiences and grow through countless vibrant activities.
- CREATIVE: Where limitless imagination is inspired and brought to life in every lesson, project, and extracurricular activity.
- MODERN: Where innovative teaching methods and advanced facilities make learning engaging and effective.
She proudly shared, “If I had to choose just one word, it would be creativity. That spirit came alive in many of my projects, from building models inspired by literary works like “Day thon Vi Da” and “Vo chong A Phu” to creating short films on plant growth in Biology. Most memorable was the Ben Thanh Market model project that my classmates and I carried out in Year 12, which was showcased at the Academic Exhibition in the academic year 2023 – 2024. All these experiences are living proof of the limitless creativity I was able to embrace at WASS. I am always grateful for the enthusiastic support of my teachers and friends at WASS, who have inspired me with countless new ideas.”
When speaking of her most memorable moment, Nam Phuong could not hide her pride: “The most meaningful experience for me was my final academic year, when I had the honor of serving as President of the Student Council. From this position, I worked with my peers to organize events of all scales – from Vietnamese Teachers’ Day and International Women’s Day to the Prom Night for the Secondary and High School students. That year helped me develop vital skills such as leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and, above all, self-confidence.”
These valuable experiences at WASS guided Nam Phuong to discover and nurture her passion for Communication and Event Management. She affirmed:
“The Student Council was the perfect launchpad – where I gained real-world experience and sharpened essential skills, giving me the confidence to pursue the career path I have chosen.”
With all the lessons and treasured memories she carries, Nam Phuong shared a message for future generations of WASSers: “Everything happens for a reason. So always believe in yourself, step out of your comfort zone, and be ready to embrace the opportunities that await you.”
Her heartfelt reflections are not only the story of a vibrant school life but also a testament to the mission WASS has pursued for the past 15 years: to create a holistic, balanced learning environment that hones skills, sparks passion, and empowers each student to shine with confidence on their chosen path while pursuing their meaningful aspirations.
