The talented WASSers made a strong impression at the District 3 Student Sports Competition for the school year 2024 – 2025 with outstanding performances and incredible achievements.

The District 3 Student Sports Competition, organized by the District 3 People’s Committee, aims to provide a healthy and enriching playground that encourages students to actively participate in physical and sports activities. The competition provides an excellent opportunity for students to connect, learn, and showcase their talents while developing physical fitness, discipline, perseverance, and confidence.

WASS sports teams participated in this competition with nearly 30 schools in the area across various sports, including Football, Badminton, Athletics, Swimming, and more. Over more than a month of competition, the WASSers demonstrated their exceptional abilities, achieving remarkable accomplishments.

Taking the lead for WASS at this year’s District 3 Student Sports Competition was the football team. WASSers expressed their determination and team spirit in every match, earning a well-deserved Bronze Medal in the Futsal for Primary School. This achievement is even more commendable, given that the team faced a series of formidable opponents in the district.

In Athletics, WASSers demonstrated endurance, flexibility, and incredible speed, conquering all distances in the recent competition. The impressive achievements of WASSers in Athletics include:

  • Do Kien Anh – 2 Silver Medals and 4 Bronze Medals
  • Nguyen Ken – 2 Silver Medals
  • Pham Hoang Long – 1 Silver Medal
  • Nguyenhuy Khang – 1 Silver Medal and 1 Bronze Medal
  • Nguyen Cong Dat – 1 Silver Medal
  • Luu Ngoc Anh – 1 Silver Medal
  • Doan Tien Phat – 2 Bronze Medals
  • Nguyen My Phuong Van – 2 Bronze Medals
  • Huynh Lap An – 1 Bronze Medal
  • Nguyen Ngoc Thao Vy – 2 Bronze Medals
  • Do Ngoc Quynh Dao – 1 Bronze Medal
  • Nguyen Truc Minh Thu – 1 Bronze Medal
  • Dao Bac Hien – 1 Bronze Medal
  • Luong Duc Minh – 1 Bronze Medal

Continuing the success of the Football and Athletics teams, WASS’s Chess players showcased their talent and intellect, shining brightly at the District 3 Student Sports Competition.

With exceptional adaptability, sharp judgment, and unwavering determination, Pham Trong Tri Bach won the prestigious Gold Medal in the individual male category, and Nguyen Kim Oanh claimed a Bronze Medal in the individual female category in the High School Division. Moreover, the team of Pham Trong Tri Bach, Alex Xavier Bell, Tran Viet Thien Nhan, Nguyen Duy Minh Thinh, and Lu Vu Nhat Tien also secured a Bronze Medal in the male team event.

In the Secondary School Division, female chess player Nguyen Thai Minh Uyen excellently achieved the prestigious Gold Medal in the individual female category. At the same time, Trinh Le Ngoc Thuong secured 3rd place, bringing home the Bronze Medal. Furthermore, the “Fantastic Four” – Lieu Thien Phu, Le Thanh Huy, Pham Nguyen Bao Thien Phong, and Le Trung Tuan – made a remarkable achievement by winning the Bronze Medal in the male team category.

The outstanding achievements at the District 3 Student Sports Competition continued to extend in the Swimming. WASS’s talented swimmers made waves in the pool, earning numerous medals of various types:

  • Tran Phan Nghe Minh – 2 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals
  • Nguyen Hoang Quan – 2 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals
  • Nguyen Anh Minh – 2 Silver Medals
  • Vo Hoang Nguyen Khang – 2 Silver Medals
  • Pham Vo Phuc Nguyen – 2 Silver Medals
  • Nguyen Nhu Khue – 1 Silver Medal and 1 Bronze Medal
  • Ta Cat Thien Kim – 1 Silver Medal and 1 Bronze Medal
  • Tran Phan Uyen Vy – 1 Silver Medal

Furthermore, the Table Tennis team added another Bronze Medal to the collection in the male team category, with a lineup featuring Vo Quang Thanh, Dinh Thien Ngon, Nguyen Nhat Minh, and Duong Dinh Hy.

The brilliant journey of WASS’s sports teams at the District 3 Student Sports Competition concluded with outstanding achievements in Badminton. In the female singles category, Do Minh Uyen brilliantly brought home the Gold Medal for students in Years 1 – 3, while Leong Thuc Nghi won the Silver Medal for students in Years 4 – 5. In the female doubles category for students in Years 3, 4, and 5, Leong Thuc Nghi and Nguyen Huynh An Nhien conquered several strong competitors to claim the prestigious Gold Medal. The Badminton team wrapped up a highly successful tournament with another Silver Medal in the female doubles category for Secondary School students, won by Nguyen Ha My and Do Trang Anh, and a Bronze Medal in the female doubles category for High School students, won by Tran Ngoc Phuong Anh and Dang Thi Quynh Anh.
