This March, WASSers had an inspiring learning experience with a series of remarkable activities, including the thrilling Grand Final Round of the Debate Championship 2025 and enriching Practical Learning Field Trips.

1. Debate Champions 2025: Shining with Sharp Debating Skills

The Debate Champions 2025 competition has officially concluded after intense rounds of debate at the Grand Final Round, held on February 27 for Primary students and March 18 – 19 for Secondary and High School students.

At the event, after drawing lots to determine the topic and selecting teams for Affirmative and Negative, WASSers conducted thorough research, gathered information, and constructed well-founded arguments to defend their viewpoints. The debates were highly engaging and dynamic, showcasing the contestants’ extensive knowledge, confidence, and outstanding public speaking skills.

At the end of the competition, the most outstanding teams were honored on the leaderboard. WASS extends our sincere appreciation to all WASSers who competed with dedication and gave their best in every round, delivering impressive debates and contributing to a successful Debate Champions season.

More than just a competition, Debate Champions 2025 has become an enriching platform for students to sharpen their critical thinking, reasoning, and communication skills. It has also encouraged them to boldly express their perspectives on real-world societal issues.

2. Practical Learning Field Trips: Exciting “Classrooms Without Walls”

Continuing the series of Practical Learning Field Trips from February, WASSers had the opportunity to expand their knowledge, ignite their curiosity about the world, and gain invaluable real-world experiences beyond textbooks at various exciting destinations.

The Kindergarten WASSers embarked on an enthusiastic adventure to the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, home to a diverse collection of flora and fauna. After learning about “The Animal World” in class, the students stepped beyond their familiar learning space to experience the richness of nature firsthand. This experience also helped nurture their curiosity, compassion for living creatures, and appreciation for the environment.

For WASSers in Years 6 – 9, this journey took them to iconic landmarks of Saigon, including the Independence Palace, the Saigon Central Post Office, and Nguyen Van Binh Book Street. Beyond gaining valuable insights into history and culture, this special “city tour” also helped students enhance their observational and research skills while creating cherished memories with teachers and friends.

Meanwhile, WASSers in Years 10 – 11 explored modern food production processes at the Yakult Factory, while Year 12 students gained career orientation and industry insights at the Vietnam Aviation Academy. These real-world experiences provided students with a deeper understanding of science and technology while empowering them to confidently choose a career path aligned with their passions and abilities.

Whether through thrilling competitions or enriching Field Trips, each activity offered WASSers an exciting and meaningful learning journey. These experiences not only allowed them to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations but also helped them develop critical thinking, essential skills, and resilience for the future.

We are nearing the end of the academic year 2024 – 2025! Get ready for more exciting activities and fun challenges coming up in April and May!
