Admissions Process

Consultation

Parents and students will be consulted about the admission process, facilities, extracurricular activities, admission requirements, school rules, fees, transportation, summer courses based on official policies of WASS and the Minister of Education (MoET).

Entrance Exams

Students of all grade levels, when registering for the entrance test, will attend an interview with the School Counsellor.

Preschool and Year 1 students

– An entrance test for the Partial Integrated Program will be an interview with Vietnamese and foreign teachers.

– An entrance test for the Fully Integrated International Programs will be an interview with foreign teachers.

From Year 2 and higher

An entrance exam will be different between the Partial Integrated Program and the Fully Integrated International Programs

Prospective students will take a paper test in bilingual and an interview in English. The paper test will examine students’ ability in English, Mathematics and Literature (in Vietnamese).

Duration: 2-3 hours

Parents will be notified by the school, typically either the result or a Letter of Offer within a minimum of 3 to 5 working days, based on the test results along with the comments received from the Academic Council.

Admission Results

Admission is based on the results of the entrance exam, comments from the Academic Council and numbers of available seats at that time. 

The result or Letter of Offer will be informed to parents within 3 – 5 working days.

The Academic Council includes the Principal, Director of Western Australian program and program coordinators.

Enrollment

Once you receive a Letter of Offer, parents must submit an Admission Fee within five days for enrollment confirmation and reserve your child’s seat.

For Kindergarten Students

Admission Application Documents:

1 General Health Certificate with confirmation from a doctor and stamped by the health authority issued within 1 month (soft copy). Parents can refer to the form here.

Enrollment Application Documents: 

– 1 Admission Form.

1 Birth Certificate (hard copy and certified version).

Vaccination Book (soft copy).

Admission Application Documents:

Student’s Passport and TRC (Temporary Residence Card) (certified photocopy).

* In cases where the student does not have a TRC: The passport must have a family visa that is valid for at least 3 to 6 months.

Enrollment Application Documents: 

An Application Form signed by the Parent or Guardian.

Curriculum Vitae.

Copies and certified Vietnamese translations of the required certificates.

Academic Transcripts and records from previous grades (a copy and notarized Vietnamese translations).

A Health Certificate issued by a competent medical authority in the country of origin within 6 months before arrival in Vietnam.

* For students holding dual citizenship, one of which is Vietnamese: The required documents follow the same regulations as for Vietnamese students.

For Primary, Secondary, and High School Students

Admission Application File:

– An application form signed by the Parent or Guardian.

– 01 4×6 student photo taken within 01 month (soft copy).

Enrollment Application Documents:

– 01 hard copy of the student’s Birth Certificate (copy or certified).

– Academic Transcripts for the current grade level (original).

– A Certificate of Completion for the 5-year-old preschool (if any, for students entering Year 1).

– A Certificate of Completion for the Primary School program (original, for students entering Year 6 to Year 9).

– A Secondary School Graduation Certificate or Temporary Graduation Certificate for students entering Year 10 (original).

– An application for school transfer with confirmation from both the current school and the new school, for students of all grade levels except those entering a new school level (original).

– A school transfer Recommendation Letter for Secondary and High School students (original).

– A confirmation of enrollment in Year 10 (for High School students transferring from other provinces/cities).

– A valid compulsory health insurance or parent’s military ID card if the student is a child of a military officer (soft copy).

– Confirmation of residence information or personal identification number notification.

– Other documents as required (depending on the time of admission).

Admission Application File:

– Student’s passport and Temporary Residence Card (TRC)

– TRC of the foreign Parent(s) as required.

* In cases where the student does not have a TRC: The passport must have a visa valid for at least 3 to 6 months.

Enrollment Application Documents:

– An application form signed by the Parent or Guardian. (*)

– Application documents in accordance with School regulations.

– Certified Copies and Vietnamese Translations of Required Certificates: As stipulated in Article 13 of the Regulations on transferring and accepting students at  Secondary and High School (certified or verified by the competent authority of the sending country).

– Academic Transcripts or a Letter from the School confirming academic performance from previous grades: Notarized Vietnamese translation required.

– Health Certificate issued by an authorized health agency in the sending country within 6 months before arrival in Vietnam.

– 01 4×6 student photo taken within 6 months of the application submission date.

– Introduction Letter from the District/Department of Education.

* For students holding dual citizenship, one of which is Vietnamese: The file requirements follow the same regulations as for Vietnamese students.
