As WASS celebrates its 15th anniversary, each story shared in the WASS in Me series becomes a meaningful piece that contributes to the School’s collective and deeply human-centered journey. Among them, the long-standing dedication of Mr. Tran Yen – Security Guard at the 157 Ly Chinh Thang Campus – stands out as a simple yet touching story filled with heartfelt emotions and lasting values.
A new beginning by chance
After leaving his previous job in the tourism and hospitality industry, Mr. Tran Yen came to WASS through what he describes as a fortunate coincidence. He shared that he has been working at the 157 Ly Chinh Thang Campus for nearly 9 years. In the early days, he couldn’t avoid feeling overwhelmed, as the new role differed significantly from his previous experience. Mr. Yen recalled: “However, thanks to the strong support and encouragement from the Board of Principals and the help of my colleagues, I gradually became familiar with my responsibilities, adapted to the new environment, and found genuine joy in my work.”

A journey of commitment and growth
Nearly a decade of dedication has also allowed Mr. Yen to witness the continuous growth of WASS – from the expansion of campuses and the increasing scale of teachers, staff, and students, to significant investments in modern facilities and equipment, along with the steadily more structured organizational system.

Reflecting on this journey, Mr. Yen shared: “Over time, WASS has made remarkable progress, and the 157 Ly Chinh Thang Campus has grown stronger every day. I feel truly honored to be a small piece of WASS’s overall picture during this period. It gives me even greater confidence in the School’s sustainable development in the future.”
Joy is found in an educational environment
What has kept Mr. Yen closely connected to WASS over the years is not only job stability and improved income, but also the happiness of working in an educational environment filled with care, respect, and appreciation.

“The trust and affection from parents and students are the greatest motivation for me to do my job better every day. Coming to school, seeing familiar student faces, and receiving warm greetings from parents have become unforgettable memories for me.” – Mr. Yen shared warmly.

He also expressed his belief in the future: “I truly believe that WASS will continue to grow and achieve many meaningful milestones in its journey of fulfilling its educational mission.”

The story of Mr. Tran Yen is a vivid reflection of the enduring values that WASS consistently upholds – a human-centered educational environment where every dedication is valued, and where each individual, regardless of position, is supported to grow, stay connected, and find joy in their work every day.
