The academic year 2026 – 2027 marks an exciting new chapter for the WASS House System. Each House steps into a refreshed identity, shaped by the ideas and voices of our WASSers.

From symbols and colours to shared activities, every element has been thoughtfully developed to foster a connected community where every WASSer can express their individuality, play to their strengths, and contribute to the unique identity of their House.

Inspired by distinctive Australian animals and Indigenous art, the four Houses each embody their own qualities and spirit:

• HOUSE OF KANGAROO – Leadership & Passion: With its powerful leaps and forward momentum, the Kangaroo represents the drive and determination of pioneering leaders who inspire others to move forward.
• HOUSE OF EMU- Knowledge & Perseverance: Intelligent and adaptable, the Emu symbolises a spirit of continuous growth, always moving forward, embracing learning, and unlocking new potential.
• HOUSE OF PERENTIE – Integrity & Resilience: The Perentie represents courage and steadfastness in the face of challenges, inspiring WASSers to stay true to the value of integrity in every action.
• HOUSE OF DUGONG – Balance & Adaptability: Calm yet adaptable, the Dugong inspires WASSers to seek harmony across learning, sports, the arts, and emotional well-being.

Four Houses, four distinctive identities, coming together to shape a diverse, dynamic, united, and compassionate WASS community.

The excitement of the new academic year came to life during the House Allocation Ceremony, where WASSers experienced the anticipation of discovering the colours they would proudly represent.

From the moment they put on their House colours, every WASSer gained new teammates, new challenges to take on, and shared goals to pursue. Every competition and activity throughout the year will be an opportunity for each House to demonstrate teamwork, embrace healthy competition, and create memorable moments together.

In particular, students’ sense of initiative and responsibility was clearly demonstrated throughout the formation of the House Councils. Students from Years 4 to 12 took an active role in running for and electing their House Captains and Vice Captains. By putting themselves forward, sharing their visions, and placing their trust in their chosen representatives through each vote, WASSers took ownership of selecting the students who will connect, support, and lead their House throughout the new academic year.

A series of exciting challenges, high-energy activities, and thrilling competitions await WASSers throughout the academic year 2026 – 2027. Every House Point earned, every breakthrough, and every moment of teamwork today will become a mark of pride, bringing each House one step closer to the coveted House Cup at the end of the academic year.
