Through meaningful activities at Peace Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival this month, WASSers explored valuable traditional cultural values, nurtured understanding, and spread the spirit of love and care throughout the community.

Each event at WASS not only creates memorable experiences but also gives students opportunities to explore values related to people, culture, and community. In September, this journey continued through the International Day of Peace (Peace Day) and the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Peace Day: Planting the seeds of peace through understanding and sharing

To celebrate the International Day of Peace on September 21, 2026, WASSers explored the meaning of peace through a variety of age-appropriate activities.

Under the theme “Little Acts for Wonderful Peace”, kindergarten WASSers explored their first lessons about friendship, kindness, and sharing through playful and creative activities. Through these experiences, they gradually learned to listen, connect, and interact positively with those around them.

For Primary, Secondary, and High School students, the message “Invest in Peace – For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day” was brought to life by WASSers through everyday actions such as listening, understanding, and respecting those around them. Through these actions, each student gradually nurtured empathy and a sense of connection, contributing to a positive community.

Mid-Autumn Festival: Exploring culture and connecting the community

Amid the joyful atmosphere of the full-moon season, the Mid-Autumn Festival 2026 offered WASSers a journey to experience the beauty of traditional culture through a variety of engaging activities.

With two themes, “Moonlit Mid-Autumn: Explore the Magic, Shine Your Wonder” for Kindergarten and “Home Beneath the Moon” for Primary, Secondary, and High School students, the Mid-Autumn Festival featured a variety of exciting activities, including making mooncakes, creating lanterns, playing traditional folk games, watching lion dances, and discovering familiar stories.

Through these experiences, WASSers not only enjoyed the lively festive atmosphere but also developed a deeper appreciation for the traditional cultural values of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Beyond cultural experiences, the spirit of sharing within the WASS community was also spread through the “Share the Moonlight”. Little gifts contributed by parents and WASSers were sent to children at Tam Binh Child Protection Center, bringing them extra joy and warmth during the full-moon season.

Through every activity and experience, WASS aims to help WASSers broaden their understanding of people, cultures, and the world around them, thereby nurturing understanding, respect, and the ability to connect within a diverse community.
