WASS offers U.S. standards-based curriculum, licensed by the Greenville Area School District which incorporates the acquisition of concepts and the development of skills leading to US High School Diploma.
The program includes the core academic subjects and specialist subject offered in a conceptual-based curriculum model; therefore, students explore concepts and essential understandings, ask compelling questions and make connections.
In addition to the subjects of Vietnam Curriculum, the elementary and middle school student students receive instruction in the core academic subjects of the English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies which have been adopted from the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), American Education Reaches Out (AERO) Social Studies Standards, and Pennsylvania State Standards.
All the curriculum units include performance assessments and opportunities for students to co-create their learning experiences through applied collaboration to solve problems or delve more deeply into topics of personal fascination.
Specialist Subjects include Physical Education, Music, Visual Art and Technology which are designed to nurture aesthetic competencies, to experience the joy of movement and fitness, and to think about themselves and their place in our world.
